Remei India has evloved as first company in organic sector in India to have developed quality Non GMO Cotton Seeds suitable for organic  conditions to better serve its farmers. The company also promotes the revival of traditional  Desi cotton(Arbroium) varieties, products of which are marketed through the textile supply chain of its Swiss mother company Remei  Switzerland.

India is worlds largest organic cotton producer and big part of it comes from state of Madhyapradesh. Since, GM cotton was introduced in India nearly a decade ago; organic farmers of the state were facing problems in getting Non GM seeds.

Together with the farmer’s social organization, the bioRe Association, and joined hands with University of Agriculture Sciences, Dharwad, we are part of the team which has developed a breeding and evaluation programme for Non GM cotton seeds under organic situation since 2011. 

We are proud to say that we at Remei India are engage with bioRe Association to implement the first and largest intensive non GM cotton breeding and evaluation programme under organic situtation in India and it has advanced to a level where 5 of our cultivars are TFL released for commerical cultivation of organic cotton.
